The Nassau County deadline to challenge your 2022-23 tax assessment has been extended to April March 1, 2021. If you don’t challenge, your taxes go up to cover the reductions for those who do. The only way to protect yourself from the new assessments causing your property taxes to skyrocket is to file a grievance. If you don’t file, your taxes will increase to cover the reductions for those who do challenge.
